We are committed to complying with the requirements of the GDPR.
The ACT project operates under the auspices of The Wilhelm von Humboldt Foundation. The Wilhelm von Humboldt Foundation strives to make its Internet offerings user-friendly and to continuously improve them. For this purpose, it is helpful to evaluate statistical data about the use of the websites and to record various technical details of the browsers and computers used by the users. Therefore, data is temporarily stored and processed in a log file for each use and each page view.
In detail, the following data is stored for each access/retrieval: shortened IP address, date and time, accessed page/name of the retrieved file, address of the previously visited website (referrer/search term) and name and version of your browser/operating system/screen resolution/device (if transmitted).
This data is only evaluated for statistical purposes and to improve the service. No other use or disclosure to third parties occurs.
However, we would like to point out that when using integrated external services, such as Google Maps for location display or directions, YouTube for videos, Twitter for thematic news feeds, your IP address and possibly other personal data may be transmitted to the respective service provider (Google, etc.) and may be stored and evaluated. We cannot assume any responsibility for this.
Personal Data
Personal data is every kind of information that can be linked to the personal and material circumstances of a specific or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as your name, home address, postal address, telephone number. Information that is not linked to your identity (such as the number of people using this website) is not included. Under rare circumstances a very unique combination of not personally identifiable information can be linked to your identity. Please be aware of that when providing non personally identifiable information.
Legal Basis for Processing Data
Where we obtain consent for the processing of your personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR serves as the legal basis for data processing.
Where we process your personal data because it is necessary for the performance of a contract or in the context of a quasi-contractual relationship with you, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis for data processing.
Where we process your personal data to fulfill a legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis for data processing.
Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR may also serve as the legal basis for data processing if the processing of your personal data is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our foundation or a third party, and your interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms do not require the protection of personal data.
Within the framework of this privacy policy, we always indicate which legal basis we rely on for the processing of your personal data..
Data Deletion and Storage Duration
We generally delete or block your personal data as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply. However, storage may continue if this is provided for by legal requirements to which we are subject, for example with regard to statutory retention and documentation obligations. In such a case, we delete or block your personal data after the end of the corresponding requirements.
Use of Our Online Service
Like many websites, we use cookies for our online service.
